Work- God Rests. Pray- God Works

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7

Every single day, we face situations and 'challenges' that triggers our emotions. These situations causes our brain to think ahead of something that 'have not' or 'may not' happen; but 'may' or 'may not' result badly - that my friend is called worry. We worry if we're gonna be late for a meeting, we worry if our co-workers likes us, we worry if our child can go to school next year, we worry if we will have food on our table for the rest of our days.

And this 'thinking ahead' brings a very close friend named anxiety and her buddy: stress. Stress makes our mood -sour, and may drastically affect a person we love, even if we dont intend it to.

PROMISE: Cast our cares on Jesus, because HE cared so much that He gave HIS own life to give us a full life. (Matt 6:25-34)

PRAY. And great things happen, TRUST will give us peace beyond our understanding!!! When we Work, God rests. when we pray, God works. ;)

COMMAND: Do NOT worry, just PRAY and THANK God.

WARNING: Worrying does not add a single day in our life

I am a perfect example for this. My personality being a melancholy-choleric makes me want to interfere with about anything, because I felt they 'need' my help they're just too afraid to ask, and I can do that better because I am a perfectionist (the melancholy speaking). The choleric side will be bossy, and push my decisions to theirs. And it caused confusions, frustrations, 'i told you so's', stress; because I will be thinking of their worries, and because I worry that their worries will happen, yet i have my own worries, and BOOM!!! I donre even want to name what happens next  ;)

So this year, LORD help us to enjoy life -to see the beautiful people you have put, to make it the best possible life there is. Help us to even appreciate the people that may cause us to frown, for YOU have put them so we can learn from them and be wiser. Teach us to number our days right, and live to the fullest by teaching us not to worry but instead pray, and put everything into YOUR hand. For you even cared about the birds in the air and their chicks, the wildflowers in the fields that will die the next day; how much more your people whom YOU gave up Your life on?

Memory Lane

RHEMA VERSE: Forget what is behind and strain towards what is ahead, let's press on towards the goal to win the prize for which God has called us heavenwards in Christ Jesus. Phil 3:13b-14

MESSAGE: Our brain is a powerful tool intricately designed by God. It holds tons of memories from certain events that can be triggered and put us to the same place or feeling it experienced from the past. Some memories makes us smile, and 'some' or many times, it  can make us frown or even sad. This new year, Apostle Paul is telling us a precious message:

forget what is behind: our past mistakes, people who let us down along the way, the problems, our former glories- and look ahead for the bright and great future the Lord has prepared.

Press on towards the goal: what God started (a dream, vision, a process, an opportunity) He will not put in vain, He will remain faithful until He completes it- that's HIS promise (Phil 1:6) A good athlete runs even with a sprain or a bruise- we may think that our challenges is taking the best part of our life but if we continue to run the race, though we may be beaten or broken down, GOD will give us inner strength to finish the race.

And when we came to that goal, only to realize that 'those' that happened in the past was also God's design, for us to be able to come to the great future. What a great joy to serve our God!

PROMISE: For. I know the plans I have for you, a plan to prosper you and not to harm you, a plan to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

COMMAND: Press on!

WARNING: Looking behind will make us miss the great future ahead.

APPLICATION:  Lord, teach me to always rely on You. To seek you first and foremost about anything and about everything. To consult You before my decisions and not after my confusions. Give us directions for this year, give us strength, wisdom and favor. Help us enjoy every moment be it a challenge or success. Thank you Lord for another year with You. Bless every lives we touch, may we cause them joy and be a testimony of Your great love and grace.

Uncommon WIsdom

Text: Exodus 37-38, Psalm 19, Acts 11

Rhema Verse: Psalms 19:7. The instructions of the Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

Message: The Word of God is life, a spring of living water as in Psalms 1. Those who delights in His Word is like a tree planted in streams who bear fruits in season. It gives uncommon wisdom that can make the simple wise. It is like a double edged sword that pierces then convicts me when I am wrong.

Promise: Nerie, meditate my Word day and night and you will be prosperous and successful. Your Word is the light to my path, I will never be wrong or clueless.

Command: READ the WORD day & night.

Warning:

Application: God is my wisdom, I may not be a learned person, but God gives grace and wisdom to the humble. More than a year ago, I kept on feeling that I can do things on my own;that I don't need to bother God for the littlest of decisions. But I was in the wrong. I realized that. everyday, every situation I need to ask for wisdom and watch for The great difference of God's work versus man's work. Right now Lord, I am waiting for Your great display for JNRM, NewYou, SAlicon Builders & Wellness Naturale, give Your people uncommon wisdom, unity, favor, strength & fear of the Lord.

The Process

Text: Exodus 33-34, Psalms 16, Acts 9

Rhema Verse: Acts 9:15. But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel.  Acts 9:20. And immediately he began preaching about Jesus in the synagogues, saying, “He is indeed the Son of God!”

Message: Paul became a believer of Christ, after his encounter in Damascus. As soon as he regained his sight, he begun preaching. His preaching became more and more powerful but in the form of debates v22, 29, it caused alot of problems at first, because many tried to kill him. When the apostles sent him to his hometown peace was restored to Judea, Galilee, Samaria. It!s clear that everything begins with a process. It is not in an instant that I can be a good messenger, apostle, entrepreneur or be the best person ever it come with a 'process'. Change is painful at first, it is like pruning a tree, but good thing Jesus will sure make my life super beautiful. It took a great boldness for Apostle Paul to testify, because He was fully convinced that He is indebted to God.

Promise: God can make me the best person He intended me to be. The process/promise may seem long, but we'll sure get there, because HE said so.

Command: 1. Don't be hasty, every second, every situation, every person was intricately designed by God to mold me to be the best person He created me to be.
2. Have patience for the people God put in my life, because they too are also hasty in the process.

Warning: Hastiness brings great stress.

Application: Lord, let me always rest in You. Know and believe that in these situations you are with us. Give me patience Lord. Thank you for teaching me the exercise of "stop"- stop-look-see through. Thank you for giving me wisdom, passion and strength. I trust in You Lord. You are the God and owner of JNRM, NewYOu, Salicon Builders, Wellness Naturale

Oppressed - OffToRest

Date: July 26, 2013
Text: Exodus 28-29, Acts 7

Rhema Verse: Acts 7:9-10 “These patriarchs were jealous of their brother Joseph, and they sold him to be a slave in Egypt. But God was with him and rescued him from all his troubles. And God gave him favor before Pharaoh, king of Egypt. God also gave Joseph unusual wisdom, so that Pharaoh appointed him governor over all of Egypt and put him in charge of the palace.

Message: Joseph had a hard time during the testing moments of his life. He had to go through a process of maturity; from being a favorite-tactless-youngest child to a mature, sensitive, organized and responsible man as a servant. All this amazing transformation came because GOD was with Him even through the toughest time that a person may seem to question is there really a God? In every situation, especially in the bad times, the Lord is with us. He can give us the rest we need. We need not to call only at times we are oppressed, but we need to learn to seek for HIM in our everyday living so we have uncommon wisdom, and uncommon rest and peace that surpasses all understanding.

Promise: God never leaves me, nor forsakes me. Nerie, meditate My Word day and night, only then you will be prosperous and successful. Joshua 1:8

Command: Seek uncommon wisdom and favor through the Word.

Warning: thinking I can handle things on my own will result to oppression.

Application: Yesterday I had the opportunity to talk with people whom God anointed and filled with His wisdom in JNRM. I had the impression that those tough times we had together in the company, the problems we had to go through was for one reason - maturity. It is a process, and Only God knows how soon everything will take place, but what amazes me is their willingness to go through it. Thank you Lord for their lives, thank you for the people you have put in our place that makes this race a joy to pass through. Thank You forI know You who begun the Good work in us, will remain faithful until you complete it. Thank You that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Thank you for the favor and the uncommon wisdom will be with us all, in Jesus name.

Stop, Look and See Through

Text: Exodus 25-27, Acts 6

Rhema Verse: Acts 6:2-4. So the Twelve called a meeting of all the believers. They said, “We apostles should spend our time teaching the word of God, not running a food program. And so, brothers, select seven men who are well respected and are full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will give them this responsibility. Then we apostles can spend our time in prayer and teaching the word.”

Message: As the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. As an organization grows there will be alot of needs to be met, because people 'needs' alot of things constantly. But one things inspired me is what the disciples did when faced with their situation. They have uncommon wisdom to make them stop their emotions from the nagging believers, look at the situation, and see through the problem for a solution. They realized that they could not leave the most important thing - the strategic work of evangelism and delegate the tactical work to competent and anointed men.

Promise: God can give me uncommon wisdom 1Kings 3:11. He is the giver of ALL good things. Matt7:11 And it is HIS joy to give me what I need in the name of Jesus, so my joy will be complete. Jn14:13

Command: Ask for uncommon wisdom. Stop, look and see through! Quiet the storm of emotions.

Warning: Not learning to be still, in the rage of a storm will make all the 'passengers' drown.

Application: Before I was able to read my devo my husband and I was talking how a child learns so fast (we were amazed by Nikki's intelligence). He said he watched it once in Discovery channel that it was because each of the brain have cells that holds a storage of curiosity. It branches out once a curiosity is being experienced and then nurtured or exhausted. He even said that according to scientists, the most genius person on earth only utilizes 15% of the brain's capacity to hold wisdom. But the good thing is, there is a God who created the human's brain and i can ask anything in His name. He granted Solomon, Joseph, Stephen and so many people great wisdom and understanding because They asked to govern His people. And Lord, that is what I ask of You today. Father, grant me uncommon wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that I may govern Your companies, Your cell group, Your church. And Lord give me an undivided heart, that always look for You, hungers and waits for Your direction. Use me Lord, strengthen me, enable me and also the people I get the opportunity to touch. Thank you for the wisdom, the favor from God and Men.

Choose Wisely

Text: Exodus 21-22, Psalms 12, Acts 4

Rhema Verse: Acts 4:32. All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had.

Message: The early disciples were persecuted after healing a lame man in the Beautiful gate. During their trial they raised a question: "Do you think God wants us to obey you (persecutors) or God?" After that they prayed to God for courage. The Holy Spirit shook the place and responded by  giving them boldness, one heart & mind. In any trial or 'situations' I am facing, a challenge is always raised: Whom will I obey? The people/myself or God?

Promise: 1. I see that the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. Acts 2:25b
2. The Holy Spirit has given me power to be a witness in all the world. Acts 1:8
3. The Holy Spirit will give us one mind and one heart to honor HIM.

Command: Pray to God for courage. Obey God rather than men.

Warning: Fearing men rather than God will end up in great consequences.

Application: Father, forgive me for the times I choose to follow others than following Your ways. I remember when I was faced with the problem at customs, I felt that I needed to give-in to what they require or else the paper will not be released, I chose to give-in thinking that it was the Only way. And now anything that comes their way they wanted to get more. Lord, forgive me I forgot that You are the God who can do the impossible. Father, you can get us out of this mess, move through the situation Holy Spirit. I declare that there will be no procastrinations, no hindrances, no sorrow in our businesses in Jesus mighty name, everything will go smoothly. Lord, teach me to always Rely on you, give us one heart and one mind. Do not let us forget the reason why we are doing this- for Your Glory alone. And because this is Yours, and You are the owner of our lives and every business You will never leave us, nor forsake us. Thank you faithful Father, because we can rely on You.

Even More Beautiful

Text: Exodus 17-20, Acts 3

Rhema Verse: Acts 3:2. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple.

Message: In the beautiful gate was someone all his life who thinks he wasn't beautiful, or worthy, or enough- a lame man. But God changed all that, God made him see what He is- soo beautiful and blessed.  This man came to know Jesus, and His life made so many pitiful lives ahead of him even more BEAUTIFUL.

Promise: HE makes ALL things beautiful in HIS time. God made me and my life beautiful.

Command: Stop and See through the 'situation'. Find the beautiful gate.

Warning: Looking at your circumstances with all the noisy emotions will make it impossible to see through. Don't look at yourself, Nerie. Look unto Jesus.

Application: God, now I know that to be able to make an impact to others, You must first be the greatest impact in me. Lord, I want to be able to see the beautiful things, your miracles, the parting of the red sea in my life everyday, and make me able to testify it to everyone who surrounds and get in touch with my life. Father, I don't want to see myself working on these, cause I know I surely can't. You have made me realized my limitations in compare to Your incomparable greatness. And God I don't want to live a life of mediocrity, work in me, work through me. Make my life and the life of others I touch even more beautiful, because You are sooooooo beautiful God.

BLINDED BY PROBLEMS

Date: July 1, 2013.
Text: Gen. 44-46, Luke 18

Rhema Verse: Genesis 45:8. So it was God who sent me here, not you! And he is the one who made me an adviser to Pharaoh—the manager of his entire palace and the governor of all Egypt.

Luke 18:41. “What do you want me to do for you?”  “Lord,” he said, “I want to see!”

Message: Many times when people face problems they get blinded by the situation and starts to panic, especially for a melancholic like me. But it is God who gives wisdom to see beyond what is happening, and what He is doing, just like in the time of Joseph. But it was clear that even though I could be in panic, distressed or drowning in my self-inflicted anxiousness, I could ask God like the blind beggar in the street to 'see'. See God's promises of salvation prepared for me.

Promise: God is always asking and waiting to do wonders for me. "What do you want me to do for you?"

Ask everything in my name, and my Father will give it to you so your joy will be complete -Jesus.  John 14:13

Command: When facing challenges, Stop-Look-Listen just like the blind beggar. Stop your negative thoughts, Look at what God is preparing, Listen to His directions.

Warning: Being blinded by too many negative thoughts and fearing things only created by your mind will stop you from getting your miracle!!!

Application: The night before my youngest birthday, while I was packing loot bags for his party I was being anxious with 1.2M, I needed to pay for the stocks so it could arrive here in the country. As part of being a melancholic a 'thinker' I exhausted my mind where I can get that amount; for we have already paid 2/3 of that 3 months ago and the stocks needed to be paid in full to arrive. And so I counted first, every chocolate for the loot bags and calculated how many loot bags I can make; 150 divided by 3 is 50 (I rechecked twice) While I was picking each chocolate my mind is counting and sorting and I begun to pray. I said, "Lord what if the children were more than 50, they haven't eaten this kind of chocolates yet, can you make it 70? Just like what You did with the 5 loaves of bread and 2 fishes that fed 5,000 men not counting women with leftover." I was sure my heart began to feel joy in my heart and went on counting and putting in chocolates to the loot bags. When my back begun to feel a little achy, and seeing little chocolates left in the bed, I started to count how many loot bags I made, I bundled them by 10 bags, and my tears began to fell when I counted I already made 50 and there's more in the bed... I counted every visible bags 55, 60, 69 and when I saw the last loot bag beneath the pillow I wept aloud. I heard what God said to me, Nerie, if I can do this with chocolates I can definitely do this in your finances. What a great God we have... All we need is to be like the beggar so bold to ask.

SEAT OF HORROR

Text: Gen. 34-36, Luke 14

Rhema Verse: Luke 14:11. For those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Message: Sitting in the seat of honor but then placed in a seat of horror is very humiliating. Honor comes after humility.

Promise: Wisdom offers long life in her right hand, and riches and honor in her left.

Command: Do not be wise in my own eyes.

Warning: The moment you become wise in your eyes is the beginning of being a fool.

Application: Lord, teach me to be humble, always looking up to You. For none of this would happen if We didn't realize that ALL of these ONLY came from the Giver of ALL good gifts- YOU! Thank you Lord, because You have taken us out of the wilderness (ramz & I) kasi dati talgang payabangan kami all the time, and we could not accomplish anything. Thank you for teaching us both, for letting us go through many things. Thank You Father for Your faithfulness.

Sensitive Much? ;)

Text: Gen. 31-33, Luke 13

Rhema Verse: Genesis 31:1-3. But Jacob soon learned that Laban’s sons were grumbling about him. “Jacob has robbed our father of everything!” they said. “He has gained all his wealth at our father’s expense.” And Jacob began to notice a change in Laban’s attitude toward him. Then the Lord said to Jacob, “Return to the land of your father and grandfather and to your relatives there, and I will be with you.”

Message: When there is a problem, a change, or circumstances I need to be sensitive of the Lord's dealings. For in every mess is a message. In every problem there is an opportunity to learn and see God's display of miracles.

Promise: I am with You... -God

Command: Be sensitive to God's directions. Seek His Word daily.

Warning: Being sensitive to my own concepts or the idea of others will produce normal results. Being sensitive to God's precepts will produce EXTRA-ORDINARY results.

Application: We were having problems with importation papers but I know Lord You'll gonna do great things in our business and in our life. Thank you Lord for You are my great Father. I was reminded, dati ang pinoproblema ko lang thousands pero ngayun millions na, when the Lord asked me, "sino nga ba nagbayad nung mga pinoproblema mo? Ikaw ba o Ako?" All I can do is smile and say, Ikaw LOrd! Lord excited ako kapag namromroblema na ako ng billions!! ;)

NOT ENOUGH

Text: Gen. 29-30, Luke 11

Rhema Verse: Luke 11:42. “Woe to you Pharisees, because you give God a tenth of your mint, rue and all other kinds of garden herbs, but you neglect justice and the love of God. You should have practiced the latter without leaving the former undone.

Matthew 23:23. “What sorrow awaits you teachers of religious law and you Pharisees. Hypocrites! For you are careful to tithe even the tiniest income from your herb gardens, but you ignore the more important aspects of the law—justice, mercy, and faith. You should tithe, yes, but do not neglect the more important things.

Message: we should tithe, yes but do not neglect more important things - justice, mercy and faith.

Promise: Malachi 3:10. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, “I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won’t have enough room to take it in! Try it! Put me to the test!

Command: Do not neglect it- to Love God, Love people!

Warning: tithing is not enough.

Application: yesterday I was with Pastor Gary & Juliet, but before that I was so grumpy bec I haven't put the Word in the morning, and I heard the bad news about a family member. Soon after, I felt everything was against me- the customs, staff, my husband. I began to ask, "What's happening Lord?" I have neglected mercy and faith. I asked myself, what can I do? What can Nerie do? When I realized I cannot do anything, I started to pray and surrender.

Text: Gen. 18-19, Psalm 3 -Luke 7

Rhema Verse: Genesis 18:18-19 “For Abraham will certainly become a great and mighty nation, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed through him. I have singled him out so that he will direct his sons and their families to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. Then I will do for Abraham all that I have promised.”

Psalms 3:5-6
I lay down and slept,
yet I woke up in safety,

Command: Do not fear! Sleep well.

Warning: fear is the absence of faith

I began to stress-out a little bit, but then the Lord told me I was just starting to plant seed. Lord, thank you for I know this is a good seed, this is what You have orchestrated, so I have nothing to fear. Thank You Lord for the 3 million sales every month, thank you Lord for the Joseph and Daniel anointed people for NewYou, JNRM, SB builders, & Wellness. Message: Eating the fruit from the tree of knowledge, made the people distinguish right from wrong. And if I refuse to do the right thing, sin is waiting to entrap, but the promise there is I can subdue it and be its master by the grace of God.

You can help us subdue the corruption in our country. Help us Lord, teach us Father.

A PRICE TO PAY

Text: Leviticus 10-13

Rhema Verse: Leviticus 10:19
Then Aaron answered Moses, “Today my sons presented both their sin offering and their burnt offering to the Lord. And yet this tragedy has happened to me. If I had eaten the people’s sin offering on such a tragic day as this, would the Lord have been pleased?”

Message: Aaron's son put lightly the Lord's direction for the sin offering of the whole Israel. As the High priest, Aaron and his other sons cannot touch, mourn, bury his own family, it was a price to pay.

Moses, in the other hand can not console them, He must be strong, so that his brother may stay strong, and give them 'more' directions. As a leader, one must be sensitive and insensitive at times.

Promise

Command: Leviticus 10:10 You must distinguish between what is sacred and what is common, between what is ceremonially unclean and what is clean.

Warning: do not take lightly God's purpose and design for me.

Application: Now I understand why some times, my Dad refuse to console me in times of my struggles. Naalala ko si Mom when we were in mAcau, instead of consoling a friend whose sister died, she did not say anything, kasi mas lalo daw masasaktan or mas lalo iiyak.

HIS GLORY APPEARED

Text: Leviticus 6-9

Rhema Verse: Leviticus 9:23
Then Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle, and when they came back out, they blessed the people again, and the glory of the Lord appeared to the whole community.

Message: As Aaron & Moses fulfilled everything the Lord has commanded regarding the Temple and the sacrifices, God's glory filled the whole community.

Promise: Jesus fulfilled EVERYTHING the Lord has commanded Him, so the Lord's glory, the Holy Spirit will live with me.

Command: Fulfill my duty! Go and make disciples of all nations! Love God, Love people!

Warning

Application: Thank you Lord, for making everything available for me- the salvation, the Word of God, Your wisdom, Your favor and the Holy Spirit to guide us and teach me which way to go, and how to please You. Lord, make me always available and ready for the call. Father, let Your glory always shine on me, so people will see the distinction.

GOD WILL MAKE A WAY

Text: Leviticus 3-5

Rhema Verse: Leviticus 5:11
“If you cannot afford to bring two turtledoves or two young pigeons, you may bring two quarts of choice flour for your sin offering. Since it is an offering for sin, you must not moisten it with olive oil or put any frankincense on it.

Message: If you cannot afford a sheep buy two turtle doves or two young pigeons for the atonement if sin. If you cant buy the turtle doves just bring two quarts of choice flour for the atonement of sin. There is no excuse for making right with God. GOD made everything available especially now, through HIS Precious Son Jesus Christ.

Promise: JESUS is the ONLY way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Command: Make right with God. Believe and receive
Warning: NO OTHER way!!!

Application: As we were going to Shanghai we watched a film The Wizard of Oz. everybody believed that he was the prophesied savior of Oz, but he was only a con artist. But when he realized that anything is possible if the people believed even though he wasn't real, they did amazing things. Lord, what I realized in this was, you are REAL, and I believed in A very REAL savior, we came here with nothing. Ramz and I only have the faith you stirred in our hearts, I know that You'll gonna do amazing things. Things that we couldn't even dare imagine, because You are our Great God, our Awesome Father. GOD, have Your way in us and through us. Thank you for Your favor and provision Lord.
